Me and DXing

My hobby of DXing has brought me to most parts of the world on the radiowaves. It is a very inspiring hobby, soon getting you interested in everything else - knowing world geography, history, stamps, languages. I was fortunate to become an international banker because of DXing which brought me to travels to many parts of the world.

The hobby of DXing also brought me into the world of editing. Under the umbrella of the renouned Danish Shortwave Club International I co-edited the club-magazine called ShortwaveNews  (more than 36 years), started and edited the weekly electronic newsletter "DX-Window" (1996-1997), and the semi-annual Clandestine Stations List (8 years).

I was co-editor of the Billboard-yearbook "World Radio TV Handbook" (8 years, Asia section). For 18 years I was the editor and host of a radioprogramme 'World DX News' on AdventistWorldRadio - over the years broadcast from many countries. In 1988, I was honoured with the "International DXer of the Year award " by ANARC - the Association of North American Radio Clubs and in May 2006 appointed as "Member of honour of the Danish Shortwave Club International".

Nowadays my primary interest is listening to and gathering information about clandestine radio.

I have had the chance of meeting many DXers world-wide, and the hobby has brought me in contact with further hundreds of DXers all over the world many of whom - although we never met - I consider to be close friends through contact via the hobby.
