Denmark lost the provinces of Schleswig and Holstein to Prussia/Austria following the Second War of
Schleswig (1864) all down to the river Kongeaaen.

Following the end of "World War I" a referendum in which the populations of Schleswig and Holstein were
asked to chose which country they wanted to belong to in future led to a partly reunification in 1920 with the
two provinces.

The postcards showing border posts  pre-1920 along Kongeaaen.
